This is the face of a truth-speaking man. It's also the face of a man who just finished running a trail race last year. But that's not important. Just last night as we were getting ready for bed, I said to my truth-speaking man: "Thor, how is it that you can make me feel so delighted in one moment and drive me so crazy in the next?" And the truth-speaking man said without a moment's hesitation, "Because sometimes I do what you want and sometimes I don't." (Had he been waiting for me to ask such a question?) I burst out laughing because there you have it: the truth I need and want to hear from the person who loves me best on this earth enough to tell me what's what. I thanked Thor for calling it like he saw it and encouraged him to keep doing more of the same because it's good for me and good for us.
When has someone told you the truth you needed, wanted to hear?
Ephesians 4:14-16
New Living Translation (NLT)
14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
